Scope of Work
The contractor is responsible for the manufacture and design of Hull Penetrator Assemblies (Part Number CPG 1025/1-105) in accordance with specification CPG 1025. Key requirements include:
- Production of penetrator bodies, covers, nuts, and washers using specific materials (QQ-N-286 and QQ-N-281).
- Strict adherence to welding and brazing standards (S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278).
- Implementation of a quality system (ISO-9001 or MIL-I-45208).
- Maintenance of full material traceability and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE).
- Ensuring all materials are mercury-free.
Testing & Quality Assurance
This procurement requires First Article Testing (FAT). One unit of each assembly (Penetrator, Header, and Inboard Plug) must be delivered to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for Government testing. Additionally, quantitative chemical and mechanical analyses, as well as non-destructive inspections (e.g., Dye Penetrant), are required for certified parts. Weld procedures and qualification data must be submitted for approval 120 days after contract award.
