Statement of Need

To maintain operational security and safety at McConnell AFB, Kansas, by replacing the inbound gate at the Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants (POL) compound leading to the flightline.

• Provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision for gate removal and replacement.

• Utilize existing gate posts, protecting them during the process.

• Remove and dispose of the existing gate.

• Fabricate and install a new gate matching the material and design specifications of the replaced gate (powder-coated aluminum). Detailed specifications are in Attachment 1.

• Furnish and install new, heavy-duty gate hardware (rollers, guides, stops).

• Integrate the new gate, rail, and safety systems with the existing gate operator to ensure full functionality.

• Replace the existing gate operator rail with a new one compatible with the existing operator.

• Install one additional set of UL325 Thru Beam Photoeyes (or approved equal) compatible with the existing gate operator, approximately 24 inches above existing photo-eyes.
