Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force is seeking quotations for the removal of existing pool slides and installation of new ones at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation (RFQ) for a one-time service. Quotes are due by May 27, 2026, at 1:30 PM CDT.
Scope of Work
The requirement involves the removal and disposal of existing water slides and the installation of new waterslides at the Main Base Pool. The project includes installing one (1) new 4-Flume slide with an attached climbing structure, comprising:
- Slide 1: Seventy-two feet (72') long spiral slide, 18' high, yellow.
- Slide 2: Eighteen feet (18') high curved slide, green.
- Slide 3: Sixteen feet (16') high curved slide, red.
- Slide 4: Twelve feet (12') high curved slide, blue. The contractor is responsible for providing all personnel, equipment, tools, supervision, and services. Installation will occur during the off-season (between Labor Day and Memorial Day). Key clarifications from Q&A and Amendment 1:
- Existing pump and plumbing are functional; no mechanical/electrical work beyond pump installation onto the new slide.
- Existing anchors can be cut flush, and new anchors installed.
- An alternate design replacing the climbing structure with stairs is acceptable.
- Available GPM for the replacement slide is 130-140 GPM @ 20TDH.
- The requirement is to replace slides with a similar or identical tower/slide combination.
