• Reused parts must be serviceable; defective or missing parts must be replaced with new parts meeting manufacturer specifications.

• Corrosion is considered "normal" and does not constitute unusual damage, but severe damage due to mishandling may result in exclusion from contract prices.

• A component is typically considered BER if repair cost exceeds 65% of a new unit's price, but the USCG makes the final determination.

• Work can be performed at the Contractor's facility or a USCG approved facility.

• Contractors must maintain OEM certification for modifications and notify the Contracting Officer immediately upon loss of certification.

• All modified components must be airworthy and suitable for installation.

• Returned components must be tagged with a DD Form 1574 Serviceable Condition Code Tag and include a Certificate of Airworthiness and Certificate of Conformance (COC).

• Serial number tracking is required for all components.

• Contractors must provide a Component Repair Record (CRR) for each repaired component, detailing maintenance performed, parts replaced, and service bulletins/modifications. The CRR must be mailed to USCG ALC and the original packed with the component.

• Contractors must maintain a quality system compliant with ISO 9001-2000 or equivalent.

• Failure data reports are required for each repaired component.

• Teardown, Test and Evaluation (TTE): Due no later than fifteen (15) calendar days after receipt of components.

• Repair: Due date TBD.

• Inspection and acceptance will be performed by USCG personnel at destination.
