The report details the findings of an inspection conducted on April 20, 2021, concerning asbestos, lead, and other potentially hazardous materials (OPHM) that could be impacted by planned renovation and demolition work at the MCX Fuel Storage Compound.

• Other Potentially Hazardous Materials (OPHM):
  • Mercury: Fluorescent and HID lamps, mercury switches, thermostats, and regulators were assessed. No mercury switches were identified. Broken or crushed fluorescent and HID lamps should be managed as hazardous waste and recycled.
  • PCBs: No PCB concerns were identified.
  • Other Items of Note: One 55-gallon steel drum labeled "Toxic" and "Ignitable" containing gasoline-contaminated materials was present and requires special handling and disposal.

Recommendations include managing broken or crushed fluorescent and HID lamps as hazardous waste and sending them for recycling. Properly trained personnel with adequate protective equipment should handle unforeseen hazards. The report also includes appendices with HAZMAT inspection drawings, a photo-log, and laboratory reports of analysis.
