Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To remove and replace two (2) existing reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventers serving the boiler and chiller systems at the Natchez Visitor Center with new, code-compliant commercial-grade units.

• Provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, permits, and disposal for the replacement.

• Remove existing RPZ units and install new, code-compliant RPZ units (3"-4").

• New units must be compliant with ASSE 1013 or USC FCCC&HR standards and include new isolation valves and relief vent/discharge assemblies.

• Provide all necessary fittings, valves, hangers, supports, and insulation.

• Reconnect, pressure test, and tag each new device.

• Restore disturbed insulation or finishes.

• Flush or bleed piping as necessary to ensure full operability.

• Deliver a complete, functional, code-compliant installation.

• Backflow testing must be performed by a certified/licensed backflow tester recognized by the local authority.

• New RPZ devices must be rated for a minimum of 140 degrees Fahrenheit and 175 PSI, or higher as required to match the existing system's operating conditions.

• All plumbing work must be performed by a Mississippi-licensed plumber.

• Devices must be tagged with a permanent inspection/certification label.

• Period of Performance: 60 Calendar Days from Notice to Proceed.

• Location: Natchez Visitor Center, 640 South Canal Street, Natchez, Mississippi.

• Work hours: Monday-Friday, 07:00–15:30 Central Time, excluding federal holidays.

• Submittals (product cut sheets, shop drawings, test certifications, as-builts, warranty certificates) are required and must be approved by the COR prior to procurement or installation.

• Contractor is responsible for site verification and due diligence prior to proposal.

• A minimum 1-year warranty on workmanship and materials is required.

• All work must comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, applicable Federal, State, and local safety and environmental regulations, and any site-specific protocols.

• Contractor must provide and maintain a basic Site Safety Plan and ensure SDS sheets are available.

• Contractor is responsible for obtaining and scheduling any required permits and inspections.

• Final cleaning, submission of all deliverables, and a final walkthrough with the COR are required for acceptance.

Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items to replace two existing backflow preventers serving the boiler and chiller systems at the Natchez Visitor Center. The project includes removal and disposal of existing RPZ assemblies, procurement and installation of new commercial-grade RPZs, pressure testing, certification, and closeout. The work is required to ensure potable water supply protection and compliance with plumbing and health codes.

• Contract type: Firm-fixed-price.

• This is base-funded and classified as an emergency repair.
