Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This document outlines the requirements for the removal and replacement of existing hollow metal doors, frames, and hardware at Buildings B145, B147, and B159 at MCAS Cherry Point.

• Removal of four existing hollow metal steel doors (two 2-2 leaf, two 2-1 leaf) and two hollow metal steel frames.

• Preparation and priming of two new hollow metal steel frames.

• Installation of four new hardware sets.

• Provision of four "DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE KEEP OUT" signs.

• Installation of louvers in all door leafs as indicated.

• Preparation of existing masonry openings to receive new frames, including filling voids and openings.

• Installation of specified extra heavy-duty doors, frames, and hardware.

• Doors must meet Level 3 performance standards.

• Louvers must have a minimum of 55 percent net-free opening.

• Hardware must be Grade 1, BHMA 630 finish and comply with NFPA 101 for exit doors.

• Weather stripping must comply with ANSI/BHMA 156.22.

• Exit devices must be Type 9-09 Combination Rim and Surface Vertical Rod, ANSI/BHMA A156.3, Grade 1.

• Doors and frames are to be painted with MPI 23 primer and MPI 9 for intermediate and top coats.

• Location: MCAS Cherry Point, Buildings B145, B147, and B159.

• The building will remain in operation during the construction period.

• Protect all finishes and surfaces from damage.

• Workers skilled in the trades must reinstall removed items and restore damaged surfaces.

• Work outside regular hours requires Contracting Officer approval.

• Planned outages and service disruptions require written request and approval at least 15 days in advance.

• Submittals for all materials are required prior to work commencement.

• Spare Parts Data and a Warranty Management Plan are required closeout submittals.

• Four electronic copies of Operation and Maintenance Manuals are required.

• Bid bonds are required for proposals valued at $150K and greater. Payment bonds are required for proposals valued at $35K and greater. No bonds are required for proposals less than $35K.
