Quick Summary
The U.S. Secret Service (USSS), under the Department of Homeland Security, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather details on existing capabilities or the feasibility of developing an online investigative searching tool/application for 3rd party airline travel information. This tool would serve as an intermediary between airlines and travel agencies (e.g., Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity). Responses are due by March 5, 2026, at 4:00 PM EST.
Purpose & Scope
The USSS seeks to understand the potential for a tool that can provide specific search results, including but not limited to: date of issue, ticket number, passenger name and record number, ticket segment number, dates and names of departure/lifting/plating carriers, flight number, origination and destination airports, form of payment, travel agency number, and indication of a voided ticket. The tool must also meet operational requirements such as secure/encrypted email delivery of results, inclusion of search date and criteria description within 5 working days, and a maximum 8-hour response time for exigent law enforcement requests (24/7).
