Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To conduct intensive archaeological pedestrian surveys and cultural resource assessments within the Rodeo-Chediski Fire perimeter on the Tonto National Forest, specifically in the Canyon Creek and Valentine Canyon areas.

• Conduct intensive pedestrian cultural resource surveys of approximately 2,747 acres.

• Assess National Register eligibility for all identified cultural resource sites.

• Record all previously identified (11 sites) and newly identified archaeological sites and isolated occurrences (estimated up to 20 new sites).

• Complete appropriate Tonto National Forest site forms and include National Register eligibility determinations and fire sensitivity assessments.

• Produce a Section 106 compliance report meeting contract specifications and USDA Forest Service Region 3 Cultural Resources Handbook standards.

• Complete data entry using the USFS Heritage Mobile Application.

• The contract period shall begin no later than June 1, 2025.

• Survey Field Work and Site Recordings: By November 3, 2025.

• Draft Report Completion: By December 19, 2025.
