This solicitation is for Patient Linen Cleaning Services for the Washington DC VA Medical Center Community Living Center. The contract will be for a period of one year.

• Furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary for patient linen cleaning services.

• Pick up soiled linen and deliver clean linen twice weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays, 5:00 AM - 7:00 AM), excluding federal holidays.

• Services must comply with Association for Linen Management (ALM) and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

• Maintain physical separation between clean and soiled linen areas.

• Provide all carts for linen transport, approved by the DC VAMC.

• Maintain a contingency plan for uninterrupted service.

• Launder, separate, and return unserviceable linen as "Ragout" with a monthly report.

• Reprocess serviceable stained linen for credit.

• Process an average of 850 pounds of linen per week.

• Maintain product integrity by disinfecting transport trailers.

• Submit required proposal documentation including compliance policies, cart cleaning procedures, contingency plan, equipment description, scale certification, lost and found procedures, health and safety policies, and universal precautions laundering process.

• Proposals will be evaluated based on the lowest priced responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the requirements.

• The award will be made to the lowest priced responsible offeror.

• This acquisition is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs).

• Offerors must be certified and listed in the SBA certification database at the time of offer and award.

• Compliance with Limitations on Subcontracting (LOS) for services (50% to non-SDVOSBs) is required.

• Standard Form 1449 is used for the solicitation.

• FAR 52.212-1, 52.212-4, and 52.212-5 are incorporated by reference or attached.

This solicitation is for Patient Linen Cleaning Services for the Washington DC Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (DC VAMC) Community Living Center (CLC). The government is procuring services to launder and finish patient linens.

• Provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and transportation for patient linen cleaning.

• Services must comply with Association for Linen Management (ALM) and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

• Maintain sanitary conditions and prevent cross-contamination.

• Pick up soiled linen and deliver clean linen twice weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays, 5:00 AM - 7:00 AM).

• Supply and maintain approved linen carts.

• Provide a contingency service plan.

• Submit monthly ragout reports and handle stained linen for reprocessing.

• Process an average of 850 pounds of linen per week.

• Handle items found in linen, including hazardous, personal, and medical items.

• Implement health and safety procedures, including Universal Precautions.

• Perform mending and patching as needed (with COR approval).

• Ensure accurate weight verification of clean linen.

• Provide packing slips and consolidated manifests for each delivery.
