First Article Test (FAT) Requirements
A First Article Test (FAT) is required, estimated at $10,000 for government testing, which will be added to offerors' prices. The contractor must deliver one unit within 120 calendar days for testing, including dimensional, leak, and drop tests.
- Waiver Option: Offerors may request a waiver if they have previously supplied identical, accepted production articles within three years from the same production location. Two prices (with/without FAT) must be submitted if requesting a waiver.
- All costs and responsibilities related to FAT submission and shipment are borne by the contractor.
