The primary objective is to engineer the removal and replacement of existing DAS components with new 5G-capable systems manufactured by Advanced RF Technologies (ADRF).

  • Core Upgrade: Full 5G upgrade of Building 758 (Jefferson Hall Library), including active and passive components, cables, and antennas, utilizing existing racks/spaces.
  • Optional Upgrades (Funding Contingent):
    • Redundant power for Building 758.
    • 5G upgrade of the General Instructional Building (GIB), involving RF Propagation study, component replacement, and new installations.
    • Redundant power for GIB.
    • 5G upgrade of Building 752 (Mahan Hall) by replacing active DAS equipment with new ADRF equipment, potentially including full passive equipment replacement.
    • Redundant power for Building 752.
  • Key Activities: RF Propagation studies ("Heat Maps"), preliminary engineering design, installation, testing, certification, and development of "As Built" drawings. All systems must meet specific performance standards for RSRP and SINR, support IPv6, and comply with Section 508.

Special Requirements

Major active equipment must be newly manufactured by Advanced RF Technologies (ADRF). Work must conform to applicable standards including BICSI 006, NFPA 70, IEEE 1100, and FCC Regulations. Support for ATT, VERIZON, and T-Mobile spectrum bands (LTE and 5G) is required. Deliverables include a Contractor Work Plan, Quality Control Plan, RF Propagation Studies, and Closeout Documentation. Contractor personnel require specific security clearances and training (AT Level I, OPSEC, iWATCH).
