USS GRIDLEY (DDG 101) FY27 Depot Modernization Period

Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This document outlines the anticipated work for the USS GRIDLEY (DDG 101) FY27 Docking Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA) and modernization.

This SOW details a modernization scope involving significant work across multiple trades and spaces. Key modernization efforts include:

• SLQ-32(V)7
• Mk 6 Mod X
• TTWCS V5.6.2.X
• AWS TI-16
• VLS Magazine Ventilation Upgrades
• AN/SQQ-89A(V)15
• Replace LOP with LOFP
• AC Chlorinator upgrade
• Magazine fire detection system
• Various NAVSEA Program Alts
• Berthing modifications
• Removal of Unused MCS Cables

The document also lists extensive maintenance requirements, including but not limited to:

• Hull Structure: Preservation and repairs to various areas including bilges, weather decks, intake/uptake, underwater hull, and decks.

• Propulsion Plant: Repair and preservation of combustion air intakes, exhaust air uptakes, and various valves, motors, and pumps.

• Electric Plant and Distribution Equipment: GTG repairs, cableway inspection, generator support system repairs, and MCT/MCP testing.

• Command and Surveillance: Tank level indicator repairs, IFF antennae repair, array resurfacing, sonar transducer replacement, SLQ-32 and PCMS repair, and MK 82 Director replacement.

• Auxiliary Systems: Insulation and lagging repair, ventilation fan overhaul, A/C plant compressor overhaul, piping system cleaning, HPAC overhaul, anchor windlass repair, and refrigeration plant overhaul.

• Outfit and Furnishings: Interior and exterior preservation, stack repair, hull preservation, and replacement of deck covering and non-skid.

• Armament: Removal, shipping, and replacement of MT 51 gun, CIWS, and RSLs.

• Ship Assembly and Support Services: Including hazardous waste control and temporary air conditioning/lodging.

• Competition Area: Coast Wide – West Coast.

• Ship Particulars: Length 510 ft, Beam 66.5 ft, Draft 21.9 ft, Displacement 9191 tons.

• Facility Particulars: Requires pier length > 509 ft, specific electrical, potable water, sea water, sewage, and compressed air capabilities. A dry dock to support DDG51 Class Ship is also required.

• The prime contractor must provide an integrated production schedule incorporating AIT, 3rd Party contractors, and Government workload.

• Work specification package will define the work split between the prime contractor and AIT contractors.

• Rough Estimate Man-Days: Maintenance Ship Yard ~139,047; Modernization Ship Yard ~68,024.

• Key Maintenance Work Items include: Compensated Fuel Tank repair, Air Intake/Exhaust structural repairs, Forecastle/Underwater Hull/Flight Deck preservation, Intake/uptake repair, CPS fan room repair, shafting replacement, and sea valve repair.

• Key Modernization Work Items include: SLQ-32(V)7, TTWCS V5.4.0.2, Mk 6 Mod X, AN/SQQ-89A(V)15, Removal of Unused MCS Cables, and Main Drainage System Piping.
