Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force is conducting a Sources Sought for a specialized study on Control and Reporting Center (CRC) equipment systems, including power, fuel, data, water, air handling, and transportation. This market research aims to identify potential prime contractors (NAICS 541330) and determine if the effort can be a competitive or Total Small Business Set-Aside. Responses are due March 31, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
This is a Sources Sought notice for market research purposes only, not a solicitation. The Air Force seeks to identify responsible sources capable of providing a specialized study of technical work related to CRC equipment and supporting systems at operational sites. The study will provide information for CRC modernization and ensure future requirements for power, fuel, data, water, air, and transportation systems are identified. A no-cost Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) is requested.
Key Areas of Study
The study will address:
- Power Generation System: Issues with aging tactical generators and power distribution modules.
- Fuel System: Replacement of outdated fuel storage and distribution systems with diminishing manufacturing sources.
- Data Network System: Modification of the current hub-and-spoke model to a mesh model for future CRC configurations.
- Water Management: Identifying capability gaps for potable, gray, and black water systems.
- HVAC System: Identifying capability gaps for environmental control units (ECUs).
- Transportation Equipment Requirements: Assessment of needs for mobile radar and communications equipment deployment vehicles.
Deliverables & Planned Timeline
The study will analyze current (legacy) and modernized CRC configurations, recommend equipment for future configurations, identify gaps, recommend equipment/service quantities, and create architecture/system diagrams. A Technical Data Package (TDP) will be provided after contract award.
- Planned Study Start: March 2026
- Partial Report Delivery: April/May 2026
- Final Study Report Delivery: End of fiscal year 2026
