Quick Summary

The U.S. Army Engineer District Walla Walla, under the Department of Defense, has issued a Solicitation for Spare Transformers for the Lower Snake River Plants. This opportunity seeks contractors to design, manufacture, deliver, and install Class II Generator Step-Up (GSU) Power Transformers (T1 and T2) for the Little Goose Lock & Dam. The overall contract is estimated at $40 Million. Proposals are due March 12, 2026.

Scope of Work

This solicitation requires the procurement of two single-phase GSU power transformers:

  • T2 Transformer: Rated 82,000/109,334 kVA (ONAN/ONAF), 500 kV high-voltage, 13.2 kV low-voltage. Both transformers must be oil-immersed, self-cooled/forced air-cooled, and suitable for outdoor operation. A critical requirement is the inclusion of Hitachi brand high-voltage, high-voltage neutral, and low-voltage bushings to ensure compatibility with existing electrical bus duct systems without modification. The scope also includes factory testing, shipment, hauling, site assembly, field testing, and long-term storage provisions. Delivery is required f.o.b. destination to the Little Goose Lock & Dam storage yard in Washington.
