- Material Certification: Quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis for the stem.
- Testing: Annealing, Age Hardening, and Ultrasonic Inspection on starting material (4 inches or greater diameter/distance). Slow Strain Rate Tensile Tests must be performed by approved laboratories.
- Quality Assurance: Adherence to ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208) quality systems, including calibration per ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 (or MIL-STD-45662). Government Quality Assurance at source is required.
- Traceability: Strict traceability for Level I/SUBSAFE systems, with material marking per MIL-STD-792 and detailed certification requirements (DI-MISC-81020, DI-MISC-80678). Electronic signatures are acceptable for Level I certification documents.
- Configuration Control: Procedures for waivers/deviations and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
