Scope of Work
This solicitation is for a 1/4 inch "NPS" THREAD PIECE to be manufactured in accordance with NAVSHIPs Drawing 1385884, piece 1. The material must be MIL-C-15726, alloy C71500, or MIL-C-24679, alloy C71500. The item is critical for shipboard systems, necessitating high-level quality assurance to prevent failure, injury, or loss of life/ship.
Key Requirements
- Quality System: Contractors must maintain a quality system compliant with ISO-9001 (amplified herein) and calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025, or MIL-I-45208 with MIL-STD-4. An acceptable Quality Control Manual is mandatory for eligibility.
- Certifications & Traceability: Requires Certificate of Compliance for Special Emphasis Material, including quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis. Material must have unique traceability markings (heat-lot, heat-treat numbers) maintained through all processes.
- Testing: Non-Destructive Tests for weld repair/production welds. Thread inspection per FED-STD-H28 series, minimum System 21. Data Item A001 (Inspection and Test Plan) may be waived if already on file at NAVSUP WSS Mechanicsburg.
- Welding/Brazing: Procedures and qualification data must be submitted for review and approval prior to performing any welding or brazing, adhering to specifications like S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278.
- Inspections: Government Quality Assurance at source, contractor inspection records, subcontractor inspection requirements, and 100% final inspection for material verification, traceability, and NDT certifications.
- Configuration Control: Waivers/Deviations and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) require Government review and approval.
- Mercury Free: Material must not contain intentionally added mercury or mercury compounds.
- Packaging: Must comply with MIL-STD 2073.
