Quick Summary

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), under the Department of Commerce, is soliciting quotations for an Ultrapure Water (UPW) System including a pretreatment system and a 1-year service agreement. This requirement is for a laboratory-scale system capable of producing Type 1 UPW to support advanced metrology for semiconductor cleaning chemicals at NIST's Gaithersburg, MD facility. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Quotations are due by April 10, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.

Scope of Work

NIST requires one (1) UPW System and one (1) Pretreatment System, along with a 12-month warranty and a 1-year service agreement. The UPW system must produce Type 1 UPW with effluent resistance ≥ 18.2 MΩ cm and < 3 ppb TOC, sustaining a dispense rate of > 1.5 L/min at 30-70 psi for up to 8 hours. The system must continuously maintain output water pressure between 30-70 psi, with a booster pump being an acceptable solution. Peak consumption is expected to be up to 90 L/h (720 L over an 8-hour workday), though average consumption will be lower. The pretreatment system will condition tap water. All items must be new, shipped in original manufacturer's packaging, and delivered F.O.B Destination. Installation at NIST, Gaithersburg, MD Building 221, includes uncrating, setup, hook-up, demonstration, and trash removal.
