Quick Summary
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), under the Department of the Treasury, is soliciting proposals for WCF Hoods for Stack and Rack Carts to be used in its internal production process at the Fort Worth, TX facility. This requirement is for a single, Firm Fixed-Price contract for 500 units. Proposals are due February 17, 2026.
Purpose and Scope
The BEP requires security hoods to cover Stack and Rack Carts after the Intaglio printing phase, allowing printed sheets to cure for at least 72 hours. The hoods must be breathable, strong, resistant to rips and tears, and include a perforated security belt and straps. The BEP will provide the locking mechanisms. Vendors are to manufacture and deliver these security hoods according to detailed drawings and specifications provided in Attachment 002. Example photos are also available.
Key Requirements & Clarifications
Vendors have significant flexibility to propose materials and construction methods based on their expertise, provided they meet core functional requirements such as breathability, strength, and durability. Non-fabric options are not currently accepted. Specific elements like D-ring reinforcement size, seam finishing, and strap handle material are left to the vendor's discretion. A plastic clasp (or cam buckle alternative) is specified for the perimeter belt. Initial delivery of two hoods for testing is required within 60 days of contract award.
