The primary objective is to refurbish Yellowstone National Park's 2003 Pierce Contender fire apparatus (Engine 3) through replacement, rebuild, or repair of various components. Key areas of work include:
- Engine and Driveline: Upgrade/replace cooling system, inspect engine for leaks, replace belts, inspect alternator, batteries, and transmission, repair bracket, update chassis suspension.
- Brake System: Complete brake replacement at wheel ends and replace all brake valves.
- Seals and Bearings: Replace wheel and hub seals, inspect wheel bearings.
- Lighting Modifications: Replace generator, upgrade scene and emergency lights to LED, update reflective striping, install new heavy-duty aluminum wheels, replace windshields and seat belts to NFPA specifications, replace SCBA seat brackets.
