• ICRA Requirements: Negative air systems are required, and ICRA barriers must extend to the deck. The VA is open to alternate methods for construction area separation if full separation can be demonstrated.
• Work Hours: Any work disruptive to hospital operations must be scheduled for weekends or after hours. Work outside the fenced area during normal hours may be limited, requiring nights and weekends for demolition and new work.
• Elevator Power: Existing elevators operate under emergency power. The GC must investigate and verify the adequacy of existing power for new construction and notify the VA PM of any deviations.
• Third-Party Inspections: No third-party inspections are required.
• Machine Room: A machine-room-less elevator is required, with control panels and disconnect switches located in the elevator shaft above the top landing.
• 600v Service: The GC is responsible for visiting the site to verify the existence and availability of the required 600v service.
