Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Great Lakes Acquisition Center, is soliciting bids for the Replace Condensate Lines and Pumps Construction project (Project No. 585-21-113) at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI. This is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. The project involves significant mechanical and electrical upgrades to the facility's condensate system. Bids are due March 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM CST.
Scope of Work
This Firm-Fixed-Price construction project requires the removal, resizing, and replacement of condensate steam lines and pumps. Key deliverables include replacing Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs), adding bypass lines, replacing High-Pressure Condensate (HPC) traps, and replacing a 6-inch steam valve from an 8-inch MPS header in the sub-basement. The scope also encompasses associated asbestos abatement and the demolition and installation of architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems across multiple facility levels and the Boiler Plant. A critical design alert prohibits the use of cast iron fittings and components in high and medium pressure steam systems, mandating cast steel or forged steel. All work must adhere to detailed specifications and the updated drawing set (S06 – Att1 BD Set Rev2).
