This document provides responses to vendor questions (RFIs) regarding the ZDV CTRB Raised Floor project, dated 01.20.2026.

• Asbestos: Asbestos removal is to be included in the bid. Demolished doors should be assumed to contain asbestos and disposed of accordingly.
• Supervisor PIV Card: A supervisor on-site will need an FAA-issued PIV Card. Other workers can be badged if needed.
• Elevator Access: Access to the elevator near the West side of the project is permitted but requires coordination with the COR.
• Product Specification (096900-1.2A-1): While the specified Tate Concore 1250/FS200D is preferred, an approved equal may be considered.
• Fire Alarm Contractor: Tech Electronics of Colorado is the preferred contractor. Honeywell and Piper Electric are working on a separate project.
• Surface Mounted Conduit: Surface mounted conduit is acceptable for raising outlets.
• Bonding: Use the specification on the legend for bonding to each pedestal. Only metallic elements below the raised floor need to be bonded.
• Door Hardware: Existing door hardware for the double door entry is acknowledged to be worn and should be replaced with new hardware.
• Wall Damage: Existing wall damage where a closer hits the wall when the door is opened needs to be repaired.
• Underfloor Dividers: Underfloor dividers (Spec 09 69 00 3.3.1) will not be required for this project.
• Load Rating: The required concentrated load rating for the raised access floor is 1,250 lbs. (567 kg), which the specified Tate ConCore 1250 meets.
• Ramp & Stairs Location: Green areas indicate ramp installation locations. The blue area is the only approved location for the RAF stairs.

These clarifications may affect bid pricing (e.g., asbestos removal, new door hardware) and technical compliance (e.g., product specifications, bonding requirements). Bidders should review these responses carefully to ensure their proposals accurately reflect the project requirements. The requirement for underfloor dividers has been removed.

Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide a new 18" high raised access floor system (approx. 2,982 SF) and SRG in the Control Wing Basement (B120A) at ZDV ARTCC (Denver). This includes the construction of two new ADA compliant ramps and stairs, and a new 9'-6" partition to enclose the area. An existing non-conforming east door will be removed and replaced within a new 2-hour rated alcove.

• General Conditions: Area cleanup throughout the project duration and final clean at project end.

• Selective Demolition: Removal of existing ramps, stairs, stair skirting, electrical components (outlets, switches, fixtures), central vacuum drops, fire alarm/strobes, the existing east door and frame, and portions of an existing partition.

• Metals: Installation of wall and floor mounted handrails at new stairs and ramps.

• Thermal and Moisture Protection: Fire stopping for penetrations at fire-rated partitions.

• Openings: Installation of a new east door and door frame, including new door hardware.

• Finishes: Construction of a 9'-6" high, 1-hour rated partition and a 2-hour rated alcove at the new east door. Installation of new rubber wall base. Installation of a complete raised access floor system with static dissipative rubber tiles and static dissipative carpet tiles. Construction of two ADA compliant ramps and one ADA compliant set of stairs with rubber flooring. Painting of existing columns and new partitions, with touch-ups on existing walls.

• Specialties: Relocation of two fire extinguishers and one AED to code-compliant heights.

• Electrical: Relocation of three power outlets, two light switches, four light fixtures, and one illuminated exit sign. Installation of two new wall-mounted light fixtures and one new illuminated exit sign.

• Communications: Installation of SRG under the raised access floor, including copper mats, perimeter grounding wire, and grounding to raised floor pedestals and the building, using smokeless exothermic welds.

• Electronic Safety & Security: Installation of a new fire detection alarm and strobe, and disconnection/reconnection of a key card reader and system at the new east door.

• Stakeholder coordination meetings.

• Adherence to JO3900.57A requirements.

• Work Request Review (WRR) submission and approval.

• Phased workplan submission.

• Submittal of cut sheets for all proposed materials/supplies/equipment.

• System component verification.

• Pre-construction meeting.

• Personnel vetting and screening for FAA facility access (REAL ID-compliant or DHS-accepted ID).

• FAA notification at least 24 hours prior to personnel arrival.

• Material compliance (low VOC/odor, FAA-approved).

• Discussion of potential equipment outages with System Support Centers (SSCs).

• Coordinate delivery, handling, and storage of materials.

• Conduct weekly progress meetings.

• Ensure construction activities do not impact ARTCC operations.

• Coordinate with FAA personnel for operation of circuit breakers, switches, and valves.

• Unauthorized work will not be paid for.

• Contractors must provide their own tools, materials, and safety equipment.

• Protecting Government Property: Take precautions to protect existing facilities, equipment, and structures. Repair any damage at contractor's expense.

• Waste and Cleanup: Maintain a clean area during construction, perform final cleanup, and dispose of ACM and lead-containing materials per state and Environmental Occupational, Safety, and Health (EOSH) procedures. Provide an on-site dumpster.

• Regulatory Compliance: Comply with EPA, OSHA, Fire Marshal, NFPA regulations, FAA standards, Industry Codes, and local codes.

• Building and Electrical Codes: Adhere to latest building codes, NEC, ADA, and FAA specifications (FAA-STD-019x and FAA-C-1217H).
