Scope of Work
The contractor will perform hand cutting (chainsaw) and piling of junipers, lodgepole, spruce, and fir in designated areas. Key requirements include:
- Stumps must be no taller than 5 inches and parallel to the ground.
- Prohibition of cutting conifers 14 inches or greater Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) or marked trees.
- Exclusion of specific species such as five-needle pine, limber pine, whitebark pine, cottonwood, and aspens.
- Construction of slash piles from tree limbs, tops, and boles no greater than 8 inches in diameter and 8 feet in length, adhering to specific size and construction requirements.
- Work areas must be kept clean, and machinery must be equipped with approved spark arresters.
- Only hand equipment (chainsaw) is permitted; no heavy equipment.
- Roads must remain open for vehicle traffic, and vehicle undercarriages must be cleaned before entering the work area.
- Work may be stopped during extreme fire danger or poor road conditions.
