Scope of Work

The contractor will perform hand cutting (chainsaw) and piling of junipers, lodgepole, spruce, and fir in designated areas. Key requirements include:

Stumps must be no taller than 5 inches and parallel to the ground.
Prohibition of cutting conifers 14 inches or greater Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) or marked trees.
Exclusion of specific species such as five-needle pine, limber pine, whitebark pine, cottonwood, and aspens.
Construction of slash piles from tree limbs, tops, and boles no greater than 8 inches in diameter and 8 feet in length, adhering to specific size and construction requirements.
Work areas must be kept clean, and machinery must be equipped with approved spark arresters.
Only hand equipment (chainsaw) is permitted; no heavy equipment.
Roads must remain open for vehicle traffic, and vehicle undercarriages must be cleaned before entering the work area.
Work may be stopped during extreme fire danger or poor road conditions.
