Scope of Work
The contractor will provide a qualified Catholic Musician/Organist and Cantor to support:
- Regular Sunday Masses (0900 & 1215) at the Marine Memorial Chapel and other designated locations.
- Special/seasonal services, Holy Days of Obligation, and their vigils.
- Funeral and memorial services.
- All music associated with worship, including preludes, postludes, congregational music, offertories, anthems, choral music, and service music.
- Coordination of music selections with the Catholic Priest, adhering to Roman Rite rubrics.
- Choir rehearsals and accompaniment for soloists and choirs.
- Recommendations for the maintenance of chapel organs and pianos.
- Submission of music plans at least one month in advance for regular services.
- Provision of all necessary instruments, excluding the chapel organ and piano.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of current experience as an organist in a military Catholic chapel or Catholic Church, with professional knowledge of Catholic Liturgy/music.
- Minimum of four (4) years of organ experience and two (2) years in music harmonization and accompanying.
- Ability to read, sight-read, and transpose music, and demonstrate keyboard proficiency.
- Written evidence of American Guild of Organists (AGO) certification at the basic level and formal organ training.
- Contractor must provide and pay for a qualified Cantor capable of singing all parts of the Mass, including Latin chants.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory and trained substitute when unable to perform.
- Successful completion of a background check and registration in the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) for base access.
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price, Open Market, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Part 12.
- Period of Performance: One (1) 12-month base period and four (4) 12-month option periods.
