Scope of Work
This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is for one (1) CNC 5 Axis Gantry Mill. The contractor will be responsible for providing all professional architectural, engineering, and construction services for site preparation, design, fabrication, installation, and testing to deliver a fully operational, turnkey system. This includes foundation work (approximate pit dimensions: 51' L x 23' W x 10' deep with a 7" concrete curb), utility connections, and compliance with various security, safety, and IT requirements at LEAD.
Key Requirements
The proposed 5-axis Gantry Mill must meet specific entry-gate criteria, including:
- Features: Chip-Conveyor with Coolant Management, at least an 80-tool magazine with load/unload arm, network-compatible controls for off-site programs, simultaneous 5-axis operations, 19-inch minimum color LCD display, Ethernet connection, and emergency shutdown buttons.
- Compatibility: Machine control and software must be compatible with MASTERCAM26, and the contractor must supply a post processor.
- Capacity: Machining table with at least 60,000 lb capacity, spindle speed of 0-12,500 RPM, 80hp spindle power (750 ft-lbs torque), linear encoders on X, Y, and Z axes.

- Additional Consideration: Preference will be given to offers exceeding requirements, such as HSK 100 spindle, Renishaw RMP60/RTS, FANUC control, multiple chip conveyors, larger LCD, replaceable two-head design, larger machining envelope/tools, and a smaller footprint.
