Quick Summary
The U.S. Department of State (DoS) is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify vendors capable of providing high-quality residential furniture for its Worldwide Residential Furniture Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs). This RFI aims to establish a contract for streamlined, pre-negotiated, repetitive purchases. Responses are due February 27, 2026, by 5 PM EST.
Purpose
This RFI is for market research purposes only and is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP). The DoS seeks to identify vendors who can meet requirements for scope, feasibility, and manufacturing under Product Service Code 7105 (Household Furniture) and NAICS code 337121. The goal is to establish a contract for repetitive purchases of household furniture, furnishings, and related supplies.
Scope of Interest
The DoS is looking for vendors who can provide commercial residential furniture, off-the-shelf, that is high-quality or commercial/contract grade (BIFMA compliant). Furniture must be well-crafted, durable, and easy to maintain. Specific requirements include:
- Furniture Styles: Transitional, Contemporary, and Modern for "House A" (standard 3-bedroom) and Minimalist for "House B" (small/apartment living).
- Color Schemes: Three schemes (Warm, Neutral, Cool) across all styles.
- Materials: Solid wood (hardwood species like Oak, Maple, Walnut, Ash), hardwood veneers (no laminates), specific metals (silver, steel, brass), glass, solid surface, and stone (marble, quartz, granite).
- Logistics: Vendors must possess a robust logistics system for packaging, delivery coordination, warehousing, transportation, consolidation of overseas shipments, managing high-volume orders, tracking, and fulfilling rush orders.
- Online Catalogs: Ability to create and maintain an online catalog with product details, pricing, and fabric swatches.
Submission Requirements
Interested vendors must submit an electronic PDF via email to CameronCR@state.gov with the subject line "WorldWide Residential Furniture Program Insert Respondent Name-". Submissions must include:
- A Cover Letter (vendor details, POC, company size, socioeconomic category, contract numbers, manufacturer/reseller status, website link).
- Company Background (history, relevant projects, logistics experience).
- A review of Attachment A (Product Specification Chart) with proposed product data and any exceptions. Pricing data is explicitly NOT required at this RFI stage.
