Scope of Work

This project represents the third and final phase of an effort to repair, remove, and replace existing low voltage electrical panels, lighting, and wiring within the CHPP and ash silo building. The scope includes:

  • Demolition: Removal and disposal of existing electrical distribution and lighting systems, including fixtures, panelboards, junction boxes, conduit, and wiring, with separation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Power Distribution: Replacement of existing panelboards, transformers, and circuit conductors, including installation of new panelboards, associated feeders, conduits, and relocation of existing circuits. Temporary power for critical loads during cutover is required.
  • Lighting Systems: Construction of new, fully functional lighting systems, including new light fixtures, emergency lighting fixtures, and associated circuits.
  • The CHPP facility will remain operational 24/7 throughout the project, with no after-hours shutdown permitted for critical loads.

Key Requirements & Considerations

  • Bonds: Performance and Payment bonds are required.

  • Compliance: Work must adhere to applicable codes and standards, including NEC, IBC, NFPA, OSHA, and EM 385-1-1. Prevailing wage rates (AK20250001) apply.
  • Submittals: Extensive documentation is required, including preconstruction submittals, project schedules, QC plans, product data, and closeout documents. A financial verification form is also part of the responsibility determination.
