Scope of Work
The contractor will provide comprehensive maintenance and repair services for an Upton Internally Heated Salt Bath Furnace (Model U-DS / UDJ6A, Serial Number DS-2976). Key tasks include:
- Pumping out molten salts and replacing old electrodes, auxiliary heaters, fuses, and thermocouples.
- Replacing wiring from the fuse box to auxiliary heaters with specified wire.
- Performing a comprehensive tank inspection, including external visual, internal, foundation, and corrosion/thickness measurements using non-destructive testing (NDT).
- Providing all non-destructive test results (CDRL A001) to the Government technical point of contact. The Government will provide new salts and dispose of solidified salts. This is a new requirement with no incumbent.
