Sole Source Justification
This acquisition is justified under FAR 6.302-1, as Illumina, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and OEM service provider for these specific sequencing platforms. Only Illumina can provide OEM-certified service, including on-site support by factory-trained engineers, access to proprietary tools and software, and genuine replacement parts. Using non-OEM parts or unauthorized service providers would void warranties, compromise system performance, data integrity, and research reliability. A prior Notice of Intent to Sole Source received no responses demonstrating competitive capability.
