Questions & Answers / Clarifications

• Top and Bottom Edge Finish (Yellow Highlighted): The requirement for laser cut, milled, or ground edge finish on the top and bottom (radial and dish) is at the contractor's discretion. A sample brake segment will be provided for precision and compatibility.

Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To procure the fabrication and delivery of thirty-two (32) brake rotor segments for the Laurel Power Plant, a remotely controlled hydropower generating plant operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers.

• Fabrication of thirty-two (32) Brake Rotor Segments.

• Material: ASTM A572 Grade 50 Low Carbon Steel.

• Finish: Stress relief and grind to #63 micro-inch surface finish on the running surface.

• Tolerances: Radial and Dish flatness within 0.004 inches; Parallel within 0.003 inches thickness; Plate thickness of 1.500 (+/- 0.005) inches.

• Rejection: Parts with flaws such as scratches, cracks, or dents that render them unsuitable will be rejected.

• Period of Performance: All work must be completed and delivered within 90 calendar days of contract award.

• Delivery Point of Contact: USACE Laurel Power Plant, 2060 Power Plant Rd., London, KY 40744. Delivery hours are Monday-Thursday, 0800-1400, excluding Federal Holidays. Contact must be made 3 days prior to delivery.

• Quality Control: Contractor must maintain a quality control system and records.

• Warranty: One (1) calendar year from final acceptance, or longer if manufacturer's warranty exceeds one year. Must cover defective materials, design, and workmanship.

• Packaging & Protection: Equipment must be packed to preserve condition, clearly identify contents and weight. Transportation, delivery, and storage costs are included in the proposal. Damage during shipping/handling must be repaired/replaced at no cost to the Government.

• Security: Contract personnel may require escort in sensitive areas.
