- Material Specifications: SAE-AMS-QQ-S-763, class 302 or 304, with quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis.
- Testing & Certification: Mandatory Intergranular Corrosion Test and other specified tests. A Certificate of Compliance is required, certifying adherence to invoked specifications and drawings.
- Quality Assurance: Both the manufacturer and prime vendor must possess an ISO 9001 certificate and a QA Manual (dated/reviewed within the last 3 years). A site visit is also a prerequisite for consideration. Government Quality Assurance will be performed at the source.
- Data Deliverables (CDRLs): Contractors must submit an Inspection and Test Plan (DI-QCIC-81110), Certification Data for Special Emphasis Material (DI-MISC-81020), and Test Certifications (DI-MISC-80678). These data items must be submitted and accepted by the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard prior to material shipment.
- Other: Welding and allied processes must be performed by qualified personnel. No mercury or mercury-containing compounds are permitted. Vendors must list the country of origin and, if not the manufacturer, provide the manufacturer's name, location, and business size.
