Quick Summary

The Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS), is soliciting proposals for the replacement of first-floor carpeting at the Martin Van Buren National Historic Site (MAVA) in Kinderhook, NY. • Manufacturing custom-color natural fiber carpets to match three distinct historic patterns (main hall/stairwell, parlor/breakfast room, library). Carpets must have very low VOC emissions.
  • Removing existing reproduction carpets and underlayment.
  • Installing new carpets and underlayment using tack strips, matching original installation methods where possible.
  • Cleaning work areas with HEPA filtration vacuums during and after installation.
  • Repairing any damage incurred during work, with NPS approval.
  • Performing a mandatory site visit for accurate measurements.
