Quick Summary
The Department of Energy's National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR), managed by Alliance for Energy Innovation, LLC, is soliciting proposals for Landscaping Maintenance, Irrigation System Maintenance, and Irrigation System Minor Repairs. This is a Time and Materials (T&M) contract with a potential value of up to $3.75 million over a base year and four option years. The opportunity is open to both Small and Large businesses (No Set-Aside). A mandatory site walk is scheduled for May 8, 2026, and proposals are due June 3, 2026.
Scope of Work
The primary objective is to preserve and maintain NLR's campus open space areas across its South Table Mountain (STM), Flatirons, and South Table Energy Park (STEP) campuses, totaling approximately 197 acres requiring landscape maintenance. The work aims to minimize environmental impact, maximize resource efficiency, and enhance native vegetation and wildlife habitat.
Key services include: weed control, mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, soil amendment, aeration, overseeding, pruning of plants/shrubs/trees, organic mulch and rock bed maintenance, flowering plant maintenance, debris removal, and leaf removal. Irrigation services encompass monitoring (via WeatherTRAK), general maintenance, winterization, spring start-up, ET programming, system repairs, and regulation of watering times.
All activities must adhere to environmentally responsible and sustainable practices, including water-efficient irrigation, integrated pest management, soil health preservation, and the use of native or climate-adapted plant species. Compliance with Colorado Air Pollution Control Division (APCD) Regulation No. 29 is required, with a strong preference for electric equipment.
