Scope of Work
This project involves comprehensive nonskid deck covering replacement and associated repairs on the USS RUSHMORE (LSD-47) flight deck. Key tasks include:
- Replacement of approximately 17,200 SF of nonskid deck covering on the flight deck, including hatch covers and the flight deck vehicle ramp.
- Application of approximately 2,180 SF of nonskid deck area around existing surfaces, extending up to 12 inches above deck members, fittings, and coamings.
- Build-up weld repair of flight deck plate, deck edge coaming, drain trough, and safety net securing latch foundation (approximately 10 SF).
- Replacement of specific components, including 12 drain trough gratings, 48 mounting supports, 10 SF of deck edge coaming, 15 LF of chafing bars, 5 SF of fender stowage foundations, 6 securing staples, 20 safety net securing latch foundations, and 2 ensign staff stowage foundations.
Performance Standards
Prior to work, offerors must inspect and test washdown nozzles and deck drains, submitting a report of findings. Other requirements include removing and installing 20 new countermeasure washdown nozzles, adhering to welding and nondestructive testing standards, cleaning and preserving new/disturbed surfaces, and applying new markings with manufacturer's "color topping" after providing one week's notification.
