Scope of Work

Contractor responsibilities include:

  • Installation of new plenum-rated Cat-6 and OM4 multimode (MM) fiber cabling, including approximately 448 Cat-6 drops and 16 OM4 MM fiber drops.
  • Installation and replacement of communications racks/cabinets, new AC power with Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and comms rack/cabinet grounding.
  • Removal and disposal of all existing outdated and abandoned-in-place Cat-3/5 and MM fiber cabling.
  • Provision of all necessary equipment, tools, supplies, materials, hardware, licensing, and documentation.

Key Requirements & Clarifications

  • Compliance with current ANSI/TIA telecommunications installation and testing standards, and Malmstrom AFB construction standards.
  • All upgraded equipment and materials must be new and maintainable for at least five years.
  • Cable colors: Blue for NIPR Cat-6, Red for SIPR Cat-6, Aqua for OM4 MM fiber. Faceplates should be flush-mounted, off-white/international white.
  • The project includes replacing 8 SIPR drops, redirected to CEL-2.
  • Installation will likely be phased; the government is open to working with the contractor on the best solution.
