Statement of Work (SOW)

To procure and install a replacement stainless steel transformer enclosure for the 750KVA shore power transformer for the USCGC Aspen, located in Homer, AK. This is to address significant corrosion and structural compromise of the existing enclosure, mitigating a safety hazard.

• Procure and deliver a new, painted stainless steel transformer enclosure suitable for outdoor use and compatible with the existing 750 KVA transformer.

• Remove and dispose of the existing enclosure in accordance with applicable regulations.

• Clean the interior of the transformer.

• Replace any corroded lugs at the transformer's primary and secondary connection points with new, corrosion-resistant lugs.

• Install the new enclosure, ensuring secure attachment to the existing base.

• Install new, legible labels and placards on the enclosure.

• A painted stainless steel transformer enclosure meeting industry standards.

• New, corrosion-resistant lugs installed on the transformer.

• New labels and placards installed on the enclosure.

Work to be completed within one of the following date windows in winter/spring 2026:

• February 9 - February 28
• March 21 - April 19
• April 27 - May 10

All work at the CGC Aspen's shore power transformer enclosure, 4688 Homer Spit Rd, Homer, AK 99603. Contractor to provide all necessary equipment and personnel.

• All personnel performing electrical work must possess necessary qualifications and certifications.
• Work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• The Port of Homer will de-energize the transformer prior to work commencement. Contractor responsible for safety measures.
• Contractor to provide a written report upon completion detailing tasks and any issues encountered.
