This document provides responses to questions raised by potential bidders regarding the FTTD (Fiber to the Desk) and VTC (Video Teleconferencing) requirements for an upcoming solicitation.

• Fiber Count: Each desk will require 4 strands of fiber. All fibers will terminate at the desk, with 2 strand spares remaining dark for future expansion. The fiber will be OM4 multimode.
• Cabling: Fiber cabling will run back to a dedicated IDF on each floor, collapsing to the 2nd-floor alcove area IDF. The contractor will be responsible for running fiber from the 1st-floor MDF to the 2nd-floor IDF.
• Contractor Responsibilities: The contractor is responsible for procuring and installing fiber optic cables, patch panels, and running the tray on the wall if needed. They are also responsible for mapping out the fiber runs and will provide OM4 multimode fiber.
• Government Furnished Equipment: The government will provide network electronics, SFP transceivers, and displays for the conference rooms. Cameras for VTC have also been procured.
• VTC Requirements: Table microphones with 3.5mm interface will be used, not soundbars with microphones. Testing requirements apply to fiber optic cables only, not A/V cables.
• Power & Connectivity: The government will provide network connectivity for devices. Power requirements behind displays or at equipment racks will utilize available outlets.

Request for Information (RFI)

This RFI seeks information from interested contractors regarding the installation of structured cabling for four conference rooms and six video teleconference (VTC) kits, along with ancillary equipment in Building 1109 at Hanscom Air Force Base (HAFB), Massachusetts. The objective is to solicit Letters of Interest (LOI) from potential contractors capable of completing this work.

• Shielding of cables to prevent signal interception.

• Installation of an extra set of cables for redundancy and scalability.

• Procurement and installation of ceiling speakers and acoustic treatment to minimize echo.

• Procurement and installation of all cables for six VTC Room Kits (TAA compliant).

• Concealment of all wiring (power, network, audio, video) within walls, ceilings, floors, or dedicated conduits/raceways to minimize visual exposure, prevent tampering, and eliminate tripping hazards.

• Provision of detailed cable routing diagrams.

• Development and maintenance of a comprehensive project plan, including schedule, resource allocation, and weekly status reports.

• Procurement of all necessary equipment and materials meeting specifications and applicable regulations.

• Configuration and testing of all equipment and connections.

• Restoration of work areas to original condition, including waste removal.

• Procurement of cables and accessories for existing VTC kits.

• Installation of equipment according to approved design and TEMPEST standards.

• Interested parties should submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) detailing their capability to meet the requirements.

• LOI should include a point of contact and an authorized representative.

Request for Information (RFI)

• Procurement and installation of cables for six fully operational Room Kits.

• All cables must be TAA compliant.

• Concealment of all wiring (power, network, audio, video) within walls, ceilings, floors, or dedicated conduits/raceways to minimize visual exposure, prevent tampering, and eliminate tripping hazards.

• Provision of detailed cable routing diagrams.

• Development and maintenance of a comprehensive project plan, including schedule and resource allocation.

• Submission of weekly project status reports.

• Procurement of all necessary equipment and materials meeting specified requirements and applicable regulations.

• Ensuring all equipment is properly configured, tested, secure, and reliable.

• Restoration of all work areas to original condition, including waste material removal.

• Procurement of necessary cables and management accessories for VTC kits.

• Installation of equipment in accordance with approved design and TEMPEST standards.

• Interested parties should submit a Letter of Interest detailing their organization's capability.

• A site visit is scheduled for Thursday, 26 February 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM ET at Hanscom AFB. Registration is required by 1:00 PM ET on 23 February 2026 via email to Mia Orris (mia.orris@us.af.mil), with a courtesy copy to Kristin Morrison (kristin.morrison.1@us.af.mil).
