Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The Department of the Army, MICC-FDO FT HOOD, has issued a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for SHOCK DATA RECORDER AND ACCELEROMETERS. This opportunity seeks new test instrumentation sensors for data recording that measure impact shock and vibration forces during Aerial Delivery (AD). This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Proposals are due March 2, 2026, at 7:00 PM UTC.
Scope of Work / Key Requirements
The requirement is for commercial supplies, specifically data acquisition (DAQ) equipment and related accessories. Only new items/equipment will be accepted. Key items include:
- Data Acquisition System (DAS): Must have a housing size equal to or smaller than 2"x2"x2", a shock rating of 500G's or greater, a sample rate of 10,000Hz or greater, programmable sampling rates, synchronization options, and the ability to measure shock, angular rate, barometric pressure, and GPS positional data. It must support time-sync for 4 DAQs, standalone recording, real-time streaming, and NIST calibration traceability. The 9xGPS device does NOT meet salient characteristics.
- DAS 6 Ch Sensor (51S-MCS-16) Cable Assy (2ft): Three-channel output adapters for piezoresistive accelerometers, 2ft cable length.
- 3ch Sensor Extension Cable, 15ft: Extension cables (10-25ft) between accelerometers and adapters.
- Triaxial Piezoresistive Accelerometer (7in cable): Piezoresistive accelerometer with NIST traceability for shock, IP67 rated (critical requirement), 7" cable, specific excitation voltage range, and thru-hole mounting.
- DS-4 Rack: Capable of downloading a minimum of 4 DAQs simultaneously.
- Interface Device Cable Kit: Modules for DAQ to computer interface via Ethernet, including power supply and connectors for IRIG, GPS, and daisy chaining DAQs. Quantities for cables, accelerometers, and interface kits include provisions for initial benchstock replacement parts.
Contract Details
- Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for commercial supplies.
