Scope of Work
The project requires the complete replacement of the existing fire alarm system with Notifier brand components. The new system must be non-proprietary, fully addressable, utilize American-made components, and feature digital voice annunciation. A new main Honeywell/Notifier panel will be installed in Building 225, communicating off-site to the Waco Fire Department. The work is a phased project to ensure minimal disruption and maintain 24/7 Medical Center operations. The scope includes base bid work in Buildings 4, 7, 90, 94, and 225, with options for additional buildings (6, 8, 202, 219, 226, 5, 93). All work must comply with relevant codes and standards, including UBC, NFPA, UFAS, and VA Specifications. The contractor must provide a dedicated Superintendent, who is a key position and cannot be subcontracted, and submit an approved safety plan. Bidders should also account for Pre-Construction Risk Assessment (PCRA) and Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) requirements.
Contract Details
This is a Firm-Fixed-Price contract. The applicable NAICS Code is 238210 (Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors) with a small business size standard of $19 Million. The performance period is 720 days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. A Bid Guarantee is required, and Performance and Payment Bonds must be provided within 10 days of award.
