Quick Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the Network Contract Office 02, is soliciting bids for the Repair SPS Deficiencies Project (528A7-19-720) at the Syracuse VA Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. This project involves comprehensive renovation and upgrade of the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) department to meet ISO 9001:2015 standards and VA directives. This is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside.

Scope of Work

The project entails repairing and upgrading the existing SPS area, including renovation of ceilings, floors, and walls. Key tasks include separating the cleaning scopes area, installing a pass-through window, relocating endoscope processing, constructing a cool-down room, and installing automated doors. The contractor will be responsible for the removal, storage, and reinstallation of SPS equipment, with the exception of the existing Cart Washer, which requires drain repair in place. The project is divided into five phases, including the setup and removal of a temporary SPS area. Mandatory use of the VISN 2 Autodesk Build Construction management platform (ACC) is required for all submissions. Specific responsibilities for equipment handling, utility connections, and stainless steel trim reinstallation are detailed. Climate control requirements for equipment are 68°F +/- 2°F with 40% +/- 5% humidity. Crane operations are limited to one day, on weekends or after hours, requiring contractor supervision and VA approval. No designated lay-down areas or on-site parking are available. The government will not pay for stored materials or material costs for extended performance periods. Section 28 13 00: Physical Access Control System will be included.
