Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contract Office 02, is soliciting bids for the Repair SPS Deficiencies project (Project No. 528A7-19-720) at the Syracuse VA Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. This project involves comprehensive renovation and upgrade of the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) department to meet current standards. This is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. The magnitude of construction is estimated between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
Scope of Work
The project's primary goal is to repair and upgrade the SPS department to comply with ISO 9001:2015 standards, VA Directive VHA-1116(2), and VA Design Guide PG-18-12. Key tasks include renovating ceilings, floors, and walls; separating the cleaning scopes area from the preparation assembly area; maintaining pressure differentials; installing a pass-through window with a vented cabinet; relocating endoscope processing; constructing a cool-down room; and installing automated doors. The work is divided into five phases, including the setup and removal of a temporary SPS area. Contractors are responsible for the removal, storage, and reinstallation of existing SPS equipment (excluding the existing Cart Washer, which must be protected in place and its leaking drain repaired). This includes utility disconnections, storage in the contractor's warehouse under specified climate control (68°F +/- 2°, 40% +/- 5% humidity), and reinstallation of utilities and stainless steel panels. Mandatory use of the VISN 2 Autodesk Build Construction management platform (ACC) is required for all submissions and correspondence.
