Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for purchasing and installing new hinged HVAC chase doors, including any necessary drywall and framing work to ensure a complete and functional door installation.

• Base Bid (CLIN 0001):

  • Contractor to prepare and paint wall openings.
  • Contractor to correct any gypsum wall damage (refer to Attachment 01).
  • Contractor must ensure the paint color matches the existing color (Sherwin Williams – WS 7015 Repose Gray).
  • Install new hinged HVAC chase panels in each suite.
  • Material Specifications: 16-gauge cold-rolled steel, continuous piano hinge, screwdriver-operated cylinder cam latch, white powder coat finish (refer to Attachment 02 for examples).
  • Door Quantity: 40 total doors to be installed.
  • Contractor is responsible for taking field measurements prior to ordering doors.

• Design: No specific design is required beyond the material specifications.

• Warranty: A minimum one-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship is required, starting on the beneficial occupancy date.

• Reporting: Daily reports in RAKEN format, including pictures of work performed, are required. Electronic copies of dump receipts must be provided by 0800 the following workday.

• Work to be performed at Shaw AFB, South Carolina.

• General Design and Construction: Work must comply with or exceed referenced standards (UFC, UFGS, IBC, IPC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, EPA, SCDHEC, SCDOT, Shaw AFB Design and Construction Standards).

• Materials: All manufactured equipment and products must be new and installed per manufacturer's instructions.

• Protection: Contractor must protect existing facilities and equipment from damage.

• Hazardous Waste: Contractor must account for special treatment of hazardous waste and environmental implications, with efforts to recycle eligible materials and dispose of unsuitable materials off-base in accordance with SCDHEC regulations.

• Submittals: Submittals must meet or exceed SOW requirements. The Contracting Officer may accept submittals with required corrections if substantially complete.

• Cleanliness: The facility/area must be cleaned entirely, including exterior areas, before return to the government.

• Pre-construction Meeting: A meeting will be held at Shaw AFB to discuss remodel requirements and construction issues.

• Finishes: All finishes must be presented as one submittal for selection and approval prior to installation.

• DD1354 Form: A completed DD1354 form is required with progress payment requests (starting at 50% completion), marked "Draft" until approximately 90% completion. A reviewed and accepted DD1354 marked "Interim" is due two weeks prior to the final inspection date.

• Permits: Contractor is responsible for obtaining and paying for all required permits.

• Working Conditions: Operations must minimally interfere with base operations and personnel safety. Utility outages must be coordinated with the Civil Engineering Squadron.

• Asbestos/Lead Based Paint: No demolition is expected, therefore no asbestos and lead-based paint report is required.

• Debris Hauling and Disposal: Approved hauling routes must be used. Debris must be enclosed to prevent leaking/spilling. All demolition debris must be housed in dumpsters, covered, and disposed of at an authorized landfill or transfer station. No disposal or burning is allowed on base.
