Scope of Work
The primary objective is to establish network connectivity for seven former Department of Energy (DoE) buildings into the wider Kirtland telecommunications network and bring buildings 20386 and 20389 into compliance with Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) Communications Standards. Key tasks include:
- Tracing, cleanup, and removal of all existing telecommunications cables and equipment (e.g., patch panels).
- Replacement of existing cables and network drops with CAT6 cabling.
- Installation of outside communications infrastructure, including 4" conduit, 144 Strand Single Mode Fiber Optic cabling, and multicell fabric innerduct.
- Installation and population of vertical cable raceways/poles for effective cable routing.
- Labeling of terminating ends in accordance with KAFB Comm Standards.
- Testing of all installed cabling to acquire final acceptance.
- Provision and installation of lockable network equipment cabinets, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and procurement of Catalyst 9300 series network switches. All work must conform to KAFB Comm Division Specs and other industry standards.
