Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for comprehensive IT infrastructure upgrades. Key tasks include:
- Removal & Replacement: Tracing, cleanup, and removal of all existing telecommunications cables, patch panels, and network drops. These will be replaced with CAT6 cabling and equipment to meet KAFB Communications Standards, specifically in buildings 20386 and 20389.
- Outside Infrastructure: Installation of outside conduit, 144 Strand Single Mode Fiber Optic cabling, and multicell fabric innerduct to establish network connectivity for seven former DOE buildings (20380, 20386, 20388, 20389, 20391, 20392, 20393, and 20449). Conduit installation may involve open trenching or directional boring, with concrete encasement required for duct banks under parking lots and roads.
- Internal Infrastructure: Installation and population of vertical cable raceways/poles (for communications only, no power required), lockable network equipment cabinets (minimum 30" depth, 24" width), and Power Distribution Units (PDUs). Existing cable routing equipment can be reused or supplemented.
- Equipment Provision: The contractor will purchase and deliver network switch equipment (e.g., Catalyst 9300 series), though configuration and installation will be performed by 377 MSG/SC.
- Site Restoration: All disturbed grounds must be restored to their original condition or better, primarily involving concrete, dirt, and rocks (sod not anticipated).
