Scope of Work

The contractor will provide all labor, materials, and equipment to repair Hoop Buildings H1 through H6 at the USDA NCAH facility in Ames, IA. Specific repairs detailed in the Statement of Work (SOW) and drawings include:

  • H1: Replace East end cover, install new end door, patch membrane, replace weather stripping, metal siding, corner covers, wood blocks, and install gravel bed. Inspect straps, cables, winches, and bolts. Work on H1 should precede H3.
  • H2: Replace damaged wood blocks, metal siding, and corner covers. Inspect straps, cables, winches, and bolts. The metal corner to be replaced is on the outside NE corner.
  • H3: Remove/replace end/top covers, weather stripping, metal siding, and corner covers. Inspect straps, cables, winches, and bolts. USDA will move equipment for end wall replacement.
  • H4: Replace damaged metal wall siding panels. Inspect straps, cables, winches, and bolts.
  • H5: Install new top cover. Inspect straps, cables, winches, and bolts. (Cattle will be moved out during repairs).
  • H6: Install new saddle brackets and diagonal brace pipes for overhead door support, replace East exterior door, and metal siding. Inspect straps, cables, winches, and bolts. (Work to be completed before H3 repairs). Contractor is responsible for furnishing all materials for diagonal braces.
  • General: Provide reports on any additional necessary repairs identified. Fabric hole patches must be two-sided and extend 2 inches beyond the hole perimeter.
