Scope of Work
This project involves the removal and replacement of an existing 48-inch culvert and headwalls on Steel Tower Road within the Verona Loop Training Area. Key tasks include:
- Demolition of approximately 1000 square feet of 18-inch thick concrete roadway.
- Removal of about 100 linear feet of existing 48-inch corrugated metal pipe and necessary rip-rap.
- Installation of 96 linear feet of new 48-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) and new concrete headwalls per NCDOT details.
- Backfilling with stabilized rip-rap, geotextile, and Aggregate Base Course (ABC) compacted to 95% density.
- Roadway backfill to match existing elevation or provide 24 inches of cover over the new RCP.
- Seeding and permanent vegetative cover for all disturbed areas. The road will be closed during construction, but the facility/activity must remain operational with minimal interference. De-watering of the stream section is required for concrete work.
Contract Details
This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation. The contract completion date is 240 days after award, with liquidated damages of $220 per calendar day for delays. The proposal acceptance period is 60 days from receipt of offers. Funding may not be available; if funds are not secured, no award will be made, and offerors will not be reimbursed for proposal costs.

Evaluation & Requirements

- One person may fulfill Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, and Safety and Health Officer roles if qualified.
