Scope of Work
The contractor will perform tree felling and woody brush removal within the LOD. Key tasks include:
- Felling all undesignated trees and woody brush.
- Cutting woody brush flush with the ground.
- Removing downed timber less than 10 inches DBH off-site.
- Felling, limbing, and bucking downed timber 10 inches DBH or greater into 10-12 foot sections and leaving on-site.
- Cutting stumps to 6 inches within existing grade.
- Disposing of approved vegetative debris (10 inches DBH or less) off-site; no on-site burning, burying, or dumping. Chips/debris up to 2 inches deep from mulching may be left.
- Protecting park resources, wetlands, and adjacent vegetation outside the LOD.
- Minimizing impacts to park visitors and traffic along Route 209, maintaining clean roadways daily.
- Estimated Quantities: 34 trees (<=10" DBH) to be felled & removed; 10 trees (10"-30" DBH) and 5 trees (30"-38" DBH) to be felled & bucked in place; 3.4 acres of shrub scrub removal.
Period & Place of Performance
The project is located along the Route 209 corridor and McDade Trail between mile markers 13.7 and 20.2 in Pike County, PA. The Period of Performance is February 10, 2026, to March 31, 2026. All work, including clearing and debris removal, must be completed and accepted by March 31, 2026, due to seasonal environmental restrictions.
