Scope of Work
The contractor will provide all vehicles, personnel, management, supplies, and equipment for nonemergent wheelchair transportation services to HAMVAMC, CBOCs, and other affiliated healthcare clinics. Services are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Key requirements include:
- Transporting patients, luggage, medical records, and medication.
- Vehicles must meet federal, state, and local regulations for safety and comfort, be clean, well-maintained, and equipped with first aid kits.
- Personnel must be courteous, professional, possess valid driver's licenses, and be at least 18 years old with one year of driving experience and a clean record.
- Personnel are subject to background investigations, fingerprinting, and must comply with TB exposure control policies.
- Utilization of the VetRide Vendor Portal or VA-Approved Transportation Software for trip requests, status updates, and claims.
- Invoices must be submitted within 30 calendar days of service.
- Response times: 30 minutes for unscheduled add-ons from HAMVAMC and for requests not originating at HAMVAMC.
- Patient pick-up times for scheduled orders cannot be more than 15 minutes prior to or later than the scheduled time.
- Contractor must maintain a Quality Control Plan (QCP) and adhere to performance standards.
- Transport of COVID-19 positive or similarly infected patients is required, following VA guidance on PPE and vehicle cleaning.
