Scope of Work
The contractor will provide comprehensive triennial testing, full maintenance, preventive maintenance, certification, and repair services for critical electrical systems. This includes:
- Generator Paralleling Switchgear and Control
- Automatic & Manual Transfer Switches (ATS/MTS)
- Switchgear and Switchboard Assemblies
- Medium Voltage Vacuum Circuit Breakers
- Substation Transformers (Dry Type and Oil Filled)
- Low Voltage Circuit Breakers (480 VAC, limited to substations or before ATS, excluding specific areas identified in the '480V Cutoff' document)
- Protective Relay Calibration (review of existing settings, not full calibration)
- GE Multilin 750 relays, Metering and Instrumentation
- Lead-acid and Ni-Cd batteries for UPS systems
- Electrical Vault Inspections and Protective Relay Calibration Settings Review. A final Engineering Appraisal report is a key deliverable.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Contractors must be experienced Electrical Contractors, preferably NETA certified, with a minimum of five years' experience in similar facilities. Technicians require OSHA 10-hour training, with a site superintendent holding OSHA 30-hour training, and supervision by a NETA Certified Field Service Engineer. Services must comply with NFPA-110, NFPA-70, NFPA-70B, NFPA-70E, NFPA 99, 29 CFR 1910, and VHA Directive 1028. A six-month warranty on repairs is required.
